Booking An Appointment
Lime Tree Surgery is constantly reviewing patient demand management and we have many ways for you to get in touch with us. You can search for, and book routine appointments with most doctors online by using the link. To get a username and password for this service please phone us, or come in to the surgery.
Another method of consultation we are improving is over the phone. The NHS Information Centre indicates that 10% of all GP consultations are presently undertaken by phone, up from 3% a decade earlier, and this is something we are actively trying to promote through our 'Same Day Team'.
Patients phoning in with an acute illness who need clinical advice, will be referred to this service . Each patient will be telephoned by a clinician to discuss their problem. The ‘Same Day Team’ will deal with the problem in one of three ways:
- Give advice over the phone
- Book an appointment
- Arrange a visit when necessary
Please remember that each appointment is for one patient only. If you have several problems or a complex problem you may need to book a double appointment.
A friend or relative maybe helpful and is welcome in your consultation with your doctor if you wish.
If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason please contact us in good time in order that it may be used for other patients.
Appointments to see members of the nursing team should be made by telephoning our reception on the number above. This can be done up to four weeks prior to your intended appointment time. At the time of booking you will be asked to give brief idea of the reason for the request to enable us to allocate the necessary time for your treatment.
As well as face-to-face appointments, we also have a system of telephone consultations, which enable the doctors and nurses to help you with some queries or problems without your having to attend the surgery. The receptionist will take your name, a contact number and a brief message, and the doctor or nurse will then call you back at a designated time. Please ensure you are available to receive the call
Doctors’ appointments, can be made four weeks in advance with your regular doctor to maintain continuity of care.
Contacting Your GP
You are able to contact your GP by leaving your request with the receptionist who will send a message directly to your doctor. He/she will then return your call or act on your request. This however may not be on the same day depending on the doctors' availability and hours.
If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation you will need to book this in advance, please ask the receptionist when you are booking your appointment.
Appointments can now be booked and prescriptions ordered over the internet via SystmOnline CLICK HERE
Please ask our receptionists for information on registration for this.
There is an electronic touch screen in reception which we would encourage you to use to speed up the booking in procedure particularly when the surgery is busy.
